Welcome to the Village Eagle Nest Mercantile
by Cris Brisbin, staff writer
By luck of the draw, Debbie Espie moved to the Moreno Valley 8 years ago with her husband, Patrick, and 2 daughters, Meaghan (UNM Business) and Eloragh (UTA Linguistics) to escape the mosquitoes in Ohio, and enjoy the sun and snow.
They have recently opened the Eagle Nest Mercantile, an art gallery and boutique gift shop on the main street in Eagle Nest. Located in the old Julio’s and next to the Fire Station. Their shop specializes in local and regional fine art that is accessibly priced for decorating your vacation cabin or full-time home. Artists from as close as Angel Fire and Taos, and as far as Arvada, CO are in the gallery right now.
Debbie is always rotating new artists into the gallery. Glass, jewelry, painting, textiles, photography, sculpture, and more. If you, or someone you know, would like to have some artwork evaluated for display in the Mercantile Gallery Collection please contact Debbie at: ENMercNM@gmail.com or message their Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ENMERCNM. Debbie also carries unique gifts from all around the country. She seeks out other small-business owners, and makers. Greeting cards, gift wrap, gifts for host/hostesses and more. We are excited to see the artistry and flavor that the Mercantile will add to the main street of Eagle Nest, and hope you’ll drop by and check it out when you can!
Winter/Spring Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hours can vary so check the Facebook page for updates. Summer Hours are planned to be Wednesday through Sunday 10am to 5pm.
We look forward to watching gallery grow and blossom over the next few months, feel free to drop by and visit.
